2019.

Hey guys!
How are you guys?!
I can't believe its 2019 and I haven't posted on this blog since the end of 2017!

I have missed posting but over the past year I haven't seemed to have the time.
I want to start blogging again as a way of giving me something to do while I am on bed rest haha!
Okay so a little back story about what has been going on in my life for the past month or so...
Back in April I was planning on going on a little Granddaughter and Nan adventure to Salzburg and Vienna. Every thing was planned and I was really excited and we headed off to the airport!
We got to Manchester airport, got the number for our gate and heading to go and get on the plane as you do in an airport.
However I didn't make it to the plane.
To get to the gate we had to walk down some stairs... I can't remember what really happened after this point apart from I ended up falling down many steps and ended up breaking my leg.
I knew I had broken a bone as soon as I realised what happened as my whole leg was like jelly. I got taken to hospital to find out that it hadn't just broken one bone but both of the bones in my lower leg. I stayed in hospital in Manchester for 11 days and had to have an operation.
I am back home now and currently have a metal rod and 4 pin screws holding the larger bone in my leg together while my little bone is hopefully healing by itself! Fingers crossed everything is going okay and the hospital next month tells me I can move onto crutches as I am currently sporting a zimmer frame as i'm only touch toe weight-baring and have to use a wheelchair.
However this hasn't stopped me living my life. It's put work on a hold for a bit because I'm not allowed to stand for a long period of time and creating special occasion cakes means I am on my feet ALOT.
To be honest breaking my leg couldn't have come at a worse time not that there is ever a good time to break a bone but May has been one of the busiest concert filled months of my life so far.
At the beginning of May I had The Vamps four corner tour in Birmingham followed by Free Radio Hits Live the very next day. Take That and Rick Astley a week or so later, last night saw The Vamps four corners tour in Leicester and Saturday is the last one until October so far for Rita Ora!
Thankfully the venues have been able to accommodate for my accident some shows have been better for disabled seats than others (I might actually do a post on my experience with the whole disabled accident thing as there is a few things that I think people should know) but the main thing is I have been able to go to them. Live music is everything to me and as you guys already know if you have been reading this blog since the beginning I LOVE CONCERTS!
I'm unsure on how long my recovery will be but i'm going to do everything in my power to get myself back to the old me and get myself better. I honestly have the best support network around me at the moment and I can't thank my family and friends enough for what they are doing for me.
So... expect some more posts from me i'm not sticking to a schedule this time I'm simply going to post when and what I feel like so you could have 3 posts in one day or none for a week haha!
I hope you're all okay!

Washing Your Makeup Brushes.

Hey guys!
So today is a Sunday which means one thing - chill out time - however for me its been a tidying up day with a catch up of corrie in the backgrounds.
I shall admit it right now I haven't cleaned my makeup brushes in a while. I know gross and also shame on me. I keep meaning to do it and every night i get home from work and thing "I'll do it tomorrow" and of course tomorrow never comes.
When I first started wearing makeup which was around the ages of 16/17 - yes I was a late bloomer to the makeup world and would literally go to school with nothing on my face not even moisturiser some day because I simply wanted more sleep over looking dolled up for a place I hated - I didn't find may written blogs that told you about things like washing your makeup brushes and once I had given it ago for myself and got into watching makeup YouTube tutorials that I started to watch other people making beauty care videos.
Everyone has to start off somewhere and many people prefer to sit and read a blog than listen to someone talk at them so I thought I would type down how I wash my makeup brushes.
There are a few things you're going to need:
1. A Sink - I use the one in my bathroom
2. Your brushes - This is an obvious one as you need to clean them
3. Baby Shampoo - This is what I personally use. The brand is Johnson's Baby Shampoo. The reason I use this is because the formula is very gentle as it is used on baby's hair and just like their little heads the bristles of your makeup brushes need taking care of too.

You can also buy brush cleaning solutions and shampoos which can be quite costly or you can use your face wash if you prefer but as many face products can be expensive I wouldn't recommend using it and kept for just face use
4. Water - This is so we can lather and rinse the brushes
5. A towel - I use a towel that doesn't have any little bobbles on or anything that can shed. This is because I don't want things transferring into my brushes when I am drying them
 6. A brush cleaning mat/glove - This is optional. You can always just use your bare hands. I have a few different silicone apparatus for cleaning my brushes - I have 2 gloves and a mat - They all do the same thing really it all depend on how much you're wanting to spend and which you feel like would be beneficial to you. The mat sticks onto the bottom of you sink or on the side making sure that the plug hole isn't covered up and water can drain or a glove which is obviously worn on the hand or 2 fingers if you buy a smaller version. I brought mine off eBay for between £0.99 - £4.00. There are loads on there and are worth having a look at if you don't want to break the bank. You can however by them from high street stores like boots and Superdrug and I also think I have seen them in the body shop and Claire's accessories at some point bit they are from about £6.00-£15.00

Now that all the equipment is out of the way we can get into the directions.
Make sure during this whole process you're keeping the bristles of the brush facing downwards. Don't point the bristles to the ceiling if you can help it. This is to stop water getting into the handle of the brushes which overtime will wear the glue down that is holding the bristles in the handle and will cause your brush to start shedding or worse loose chunks of bristles.

Lets begin!

1. Squeeze a little amount of baby shampoo onto your mat/glove/hand.
2. Take your brush and give it a quick dash under the tap and start to swirl the makeup brush in the baby shampoo. This will cause the shampoo to start lathering and start to clean your brushes. You will start to see the makeup that has built up start to break down and leave the brush.
3. Give it a rinse under clean warm water. Make sure the water isn't too hot as this will cause the glue to start melting in the handle.
4. Squeeze out the excess water from the brush carefully and If needed for a deeper clean repeat steps 1-3 until the brush is running clear in the the water at step 3.
5. Swirl your brush on your towel this will allow the bristles to start drying and reduce the risk of water getting stuck the in the brush and going mouldy over time.
6. Dry your brushes - There are a few ways you can do this. The first way is to lie your brushes down on a table/dressers hanging off the side so the bristles have a chance to dry from every angle the air can circulated to. If the brush is flat on a surface the area on the table won't dry.
The next way is to attach your brushed to a vertical panel. This could be a door/dresser/wardrobe anything really - I personally have a magnetic bulletin board in my room which I used to hang my brushes - I attach a little self adhesive magnet on the back which I got off eBay years ago and let them dry bristles facing downwards just like when we washed them.
The third options is to buy a "brush tree" you can get these off the internet that are specially made for cosmetic brushes or you may be able to get a brush drying rack from a craft supply shop which is used for paint brushes which I'm sure would do the job just as well. The reason why I didn't include this into the equipment sections is because I personally don't use one of these.
7. Reshape the brush and allow around 24 hours for them to fully dry. You may be able to use them before the 24 hour mark just make sure that they're still not wet as it can cause extra bacterial to build. If you can't wait that long use a blow-dryer on a low setting and gently dry them.

And there you go!
Simple!
It is important to stay on top of washing your brushes regulatory to stop bacteria build up which can cause spots, blackhead, clogged pores and in some cases very server acne. There shouldn't really be an excuse as to why your makeup brushes aren't cleaned and cared for and I feel embarrassed by how long I have left mine. It is recommended to wash your main face brushed every 1-2 weeks and eye brushes can be done every 4-5 weeks depending on how much product build up there is on them.
If you have any questions or advice you would like to add to the this post for other people to see leave them in the comments!

Batiste 2in1 Dry Shampoo & Conditioner - Review

Hey Guys!
So recently Batiste sent me some of their new range of dry shampoo to try!
First of all Thank you Batiste for sending them me it was a lovely surprise to receive!
Next the smell of these are AMAZING and the packaging is so pretty and sleek!
I love the white packaging with the bright pops of colours
I got sent the Orange & Pomegranate and Vanilla & Passionfruit.
There is another one in this collection which I haven't tried which I believe is Cocoa & Cashmere.
This dry shampoo is meant to be perfect for refreshing and removing excess oil in your hair while still conditioning it from the roof to the tip.
Many of you may not know but I have naturally curly & thick hair that has a mind of its own. I will post a photo at the end for this blog to show you what my hair is like.
I also colour my hair regularly which can cause my hair to dry out.
Many dry shampoos I have used in the pass have left my hair so dry from it absorbing all the oil that its looked like straw. This dry shampoo was different - it did leave a shine to my hair but there was one big downside with it for me.
It says on the can to shake the can, hold it 30cms away from your hair and spray in a halo like motion (in a circle above your head) but due to having really thick hair it didn't reach everywhere it needed too so I ended up having to section off my hair and spray it that way. I'm not sure if the reason for it turning sections of my hair white was due to sectioning it off but it wouldn't rub into my scalp and because my hair is curly I have zero percent chance of getting a brush though my hair to get rid of it so I needed up having to wet my hair and let it dry naturally during the day which at times it would have just been easier for me to wash my hair and let it dry over night.
I will defiantly buy this product again in the future - I always like to take a travel dry shampoo with me when I go away for the weekend or so just so I have a backup incase I can't get to wash my hair for some reason or I need to add some texture to my flat hair.
If you follow THIS LINK it will take you to the Orange & Pomegranate on the boots website which is currently on 3 for 2! It retails for 4.49.
What is your favourite dry shampoo?

The Vamps - Night & Day - Night Edition - Mini Review

Hey Guys!
Hope you're all well!
Have you brought The Vamps New Album yet?
If the answer the this question is YES you're an amazing person and we should be friend... If the answer was NO then... WHY HAVE YOU NOT BROUGHT IT YET?! LINKS WILL BE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS BLOG POST SO GO BUY IT, STREAM IT, EVERYTHING THAT YOU CAN!!

This new album is incredible. It's so passionate and full to the last track with absolute tunes! Their new album is split into two sections - This one which is the Night Edition and the Day Edition which may I just add is a brilliant idea!

The night edition includes the singles -'All Night' & 'Middle Of The Night' along with songs like 'Same to You', 'Paper Hearts', 'Shades On', 'It's A Lie' & 'Stay'.

To celebrate the album the Four talented boys have their own version of the album (It's basically the same as the original but it has 2 extra songs which are person to each boys album) Tristan has two song on his called 'Come Grind On Me' and 'All Around The World' - James 'Higher' and 'I Love Loving You' - Brad 'Sad Song' and 'My Place' & Connor 'On My Way' and 'Middle of the Night (Rock Version)
If you preordered the bundle from their website before it came out you had the chance to have it signed by the boys!

Every single song on this new album is like I said before INCREDIBLE! Every extra song from each of the boys albums are brilliant and you can 100% see how much they have grown as artists from their first album to this one. It's an honour as a fan to see them grow the way they're and I can't wait to hear what the rest of the Night & Day album has in store for us fans with the Day Edition!

These boys are so talented and deserve all the happiness and success life and us as fans can throw at them! I hope this album gets Number 1 in the charts not only just for James Mcvey to do a naked livestream but because their hard work needs to be reconsigned!

So with that being said....

21 going on 81. ♥

Hey guys!
This is going to be a bit of a rambling post so I apologize in advance.

Over the past couple of weeks I have seen many of my facebook friends and people who I follow on twitter posting about parties and getting drunk etc and it's got me wondering...
I'm not judging anyone of how they live their life or how they choose to make decisions because each to their own but it got me thinking about how I live my life.
I have a few confessions.
#1 - I have never been on a night up town.
For me it's not something that interests me and that I want to do. I could think of nothing worse than going into a club, getting off my face and stumbling home. And let's not get into how much I know some people spend in one night, it's more than my heart can take and well I just see it as concert ticket money haha!
Yes I live my life going to concert and popping to the pub when my friends are back from university and I'm perfectly fine with this. I don't understand how people can count down until the weekend to get drunk and "forget everything". I'm not saying that I will never ever go into a club because there may be a time that I do but at the moment it's not on my list of priorities. Honestly if I don't ever in my life go to a club I wouldn't be bothered and feel like I have 'missed out'.

#2 - I have never gotten that drunk that I can't remember the night before.
I saw a facebook post the other day with someone saying they couldn't remember last night and it was a "messy" one. Again I could think of nothing worse. I enjoy spending time with my friends and making memories that will last a lifetime than to drink them all away and have no recollection of the night before apart from a banging head from all the booze. I know you don't have to drink when you go to places like a club but when you ask people what you do a club they will tell you that you have a little dance, get drunk and 'enjoy yourself'.

I'm not aiming this post at anyone in particular because I couldn't care less how you live you life if i'm honest it's just something that has been on my mind for a while - you do you boo!
Anyways many people who I see post these types of thing are at university and I fully understand that's what you do to let off steam from the week and spend time with your mates but I am someone who owns their own business and works 7 days of the week for around 12 hours a day. This includes being on my feet all day at the shop making cakes to answering facebook and any other enquires at every hour of the day (I have had people message me as early as 3 - 4am in the morning right up until midnight in one day). The thing I enjoy the most is coming home, getting into my PJ's and relaxing with a cup of tea and some rubbish TV every night and weekend when I can.
I guess it's just the generation we live in now a days. I am an old soul I know that. I act more like im 81 than 21 sometime but can drop to acting like a 4 year old at a drop of a hat haha!
If you read this and you are one of these people who enjoy going up town maybe you think i'm strange for not experiencing what you do most weekends and sometimes of a weekday but we each choose our own path in life and I think it's wonderful we have our own views else this world would be a boring one haha!
I know this is a random post but I just wanted to let it all out.
I hope you're all okay

I have been drowning in everything cake over the last couple of months, not that i'm moaning as I am enjoying what I am doing but it's lovely to have a few minutes to sit and chill and do something little for me.
I have a few blog posts in which I have half types out but never finished and posted them so expect those soon including a few concert posts!
I just wanted to pop on here to say I haven't forgotten about you guys and to let you know how much I have missed posting!

Jack Whitehall - 160217 ♥

Hey guys!
The other day I went to see Jack Whitehall at the Genting arena with Jessica!
When we first booked tickets I was a tad dubious as to if he will be as funny as he is on TV. Jess had seen him before and said he was funny and she wasn't wrong he was hilarious! Right from the beginning of the show my sides were hurting from laughing so much.
I don't know any other comedian that can ride on a horse so casually have it take a poop of the stage and make such a drama out of it seem so funny as he did!
He has so many stories to tell from him playing 'Would You Rather' with a 13 year old at a wedding to his awkward situation with one of his friends 'Dave' who he was keeping his identity a secret for the sake of his friend since the story was all to do with the royal family - to be specific Prince Harry but later revealed not only is name but his twitter handle as told people to start tweeting him about the story!
My favourite part about the whole show has to be the story about his little part in a well known film - Frozen - He played he character Gothi the Troll. Does sound familiar? There is a reason for that... They cut him out of the film. The ending of the show was all to do with this with a lady singing 'Let It Go' and jack following onto the stage dressed in a green inflatable suit dress more like shrek than a troll!
It was a wonderful night and I will definitely be going to see him again in the future if he tours Birmingham.
Have you guys see him?
Here are a few photo of the night to finish off the post - Enjoy!
